Zivid names Thomas Embla Bonnerud as CEO
OSLO, Norway, September 3, 2018 – Zivid, the 3D machine vision camera company, has appointed Thomas Embla Bonnerud as CEO with immediate effect. He succeeds co-founder Henrik Schumann-Olsen in the role, who moves on to take up CTO and CMO positions at the company.
Thomas Embla Bonnerud arrives at Zivid from Nordic Semiconductor where he served for more than 17 years, most recently as Director of Strategy and Investor Relations, including the company’s overall product and market strategy. He holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

With more than 60 years in-house experience of 3D machine vision and optical sensor technology, Zivid is enabling customers to boost efficiency and productivity in a wide range of demanding applications including bin-picking, pick-and-place, assembly, robot guiding, and quality inspection.
Zivid One 3D color cameras capture high quality XYZ point cloud and RGB data on a single sensor chip. With high accuracy and acquisition rate and quality of data, it produces vivid high definition 3D images of even the most problematic target objects.
Zivid One has received numerous industry awards for its quality of data (QoD), technical features and design implementation. These include: ‘Top Innovation Award’ from inVISION magazine; ‘Gold Innovators Award’ from Vision Systems & Design; Red Dot's ‘Product Design’ award; and the Research Council of Norway's prestigious ‘Innovation Award’.
